In obedience to The Lord’s calling for his life, 9-year old Luke Holm has started a movement to help others – a movement that is touching not only lives, but also taste buds. In the fall of 2014 Luke met a homeless man named Tim in his hometown of Marietta, Georgia. After spending some time together, Luke felt the Lord’s call to make a difference in this man’s life by raising money to build him a home.
Being only 8 years old at the time and having no income of his own, Luke decided that sharing one of his favorite things was the best way to raise money – his Grandmommy’s famous sweet and spicy pickles! Through the help of his mom, the Glory Haus family, and his Grandmommy, Luke was able to make his dream a reality. Each jar of these famous pickles is packaged in Marietta, GA and sold through Glory Haus to stores and homes all over the United States.
Since the launch of the “Pickles with a Purpose” project, Luke has raised more than $25,000 and hopes to soon reach his goal of $75,000. The proceeds from Luke’s pickles go to the fund and he couldn’t be more excited with the outcome, the response, and the encouragement he’s received so far!
After the money has been raised and Tim’s house built, we’re sure that Luke will want to bless others with his God-given gifts and passions. Luke’s heart behind this project is to not only supply a physical need, but to also encourage others to make a difference in the world – no matter your age.
